If you are an enthusiastic skateboarder and you have some original tricks and a solid routine, then you are well on your way to a career in professional skateboarding.

Now of course attaining a career in professional skateboarding entails a little more than simply being a talented skateboarder, because if you really want to make money skateboarding it will be necessary to attend competitions and compete regularly, gain recognition  at competitions, and ultimately achieve quality sponsorship.

One common mistake that is made by many individuals is that they participate in a sporting event or competition solely for the purpose of fame, glamor, or making money.  When a person has their focus on any one, or even all of  these things, it is obvious that they are neglecting their true passion and talent — putting it second in line to the fruits of the sport.  Many a times glamor, fame, and riches has destroyed some of the best sportsman and competitors.  As such, although the prospect of fame, glamor, and riches is enticing and may appear to be harmless, it can ultimately consume and destroy you.

Remember, your talent is a gift and you must stay focused on utilizing your gift to the highest level.  If you maintain this attitude and discipline yourself to keep priorities in order, you surely will make money skateboarding and you will have a greater appreciation for the sport, maintain dignity and respect in the skateboard community, and likely attain skateboard sponsorship beyond your wildest dreams!
